The Mantra of Compassion

Around Buddha, the six syllables of the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum are arranged in exalted Tibetan script and hand-painted in intense colors. The mantra stands for compassion, protection, and the purification of the mind, and is closely associated with Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion.
