"Kailash" Hand-Knitted Nepal Flip-Top Mittens

The "Kailash" flip-top mittens combine the best of two worlds: warm mittens and practical fingerless gloves. Handcrafted in small family knitting businesses around Panauti, Banepa, and Shakhu, each pair is unique – full of character, colorful, and uniquely artisanal.

Material & Warmth

Hand-knitted on the outside from robust Nepalese sheep's wool, softly lined with fleece on the inside – for warm, natural outer wool, extra comfort from the soft inner lining, and reliable protection against winter cold, wind, and snow. Breathable, soft, and reliably warm.

The flip-over mitten cap can be secured with a button, as can the foldable thumb – perfect for when you briefly need your fingers free.

Design & Pattern

All four variations feature classic jacquard/Fair Isle patterns, combined with striking stripes and color-coordinated buttons. Each color variant appears vibrant, traditional, and yet suitable for everyday wear.

• Green – Light green, turquoise/teal, dark blue/black & cream white, striped cap, large white pattern block on the palm, gray button
• Red – Dark red/wine red, black & cream white, striped cap, curved red pattern with white border, brown button
