Classic Sandalwood Mala Bracelet

This mala bracelet consists of round, polished sandalwood beads with a warm, reddish-brown tone, fine grain, and a pleasant matte luster. At just 12 grams, it is particularly light and barely noticeable on the wrist.

A larger Guru bead marks the beginning and end of the strand – traditionally the spiritual center of every mala. Small pendant beads are also attached to the ends of the cord as classic embellishments. The elastic band adapts to the wrist (One Size).

Origin – from the Namdroling Monastery Shop

Namdroling Monastery is located in Bylakuppe, South India, and is one of the largest monasteries of the Nyingma tradition in exile – also known as the "Golden Temple". Right on site, there is a small shop run by the monks themselves, where pilgrims and visitors can find malas, incense, and religious objects.

This bracelet also comes from that very shop. The proceeds directly benefit the monastic community: the upkeep and education of the monks and nuns who live there.

Meaning & Tradition

The Guru bead traditionally represents the connection to one's spiritual teacher or higher self – a small but significant anchor point in the mala. The bracelet is suitable for counting mantras or breaths, as well as for a daily reminder of a moment of tranquility.

Sandalwood is traditionally considered calming and clarifying – the beads emit a subtle, woody fragrance that remains lightly perceptible with warmth and friction on the wrist.
