"Natural, undyed wool feels so honest and calm – you can practically feel the craftsmanship behind it."

"Sangachok" Hand-Knitted Nepalese Cardigan

The "Sangachok" combines the iconic cable and textured patterns of traditional Aran knitting with the warm, authentic handwork of Nepalese knitters. Each cardigan is created in Panauti, Banepa, and Shakhu – stitch by stitch, meticulously handcrafted. A piece of genuine culture, carried by generations of lived knitting tradition.

The model in the product photos is 185 cm tall and wears the cardigan in size XL – the fit is regular to slightly loose, ideal for warm layered looks, with natural stretch from pure wool for comfortable wear.

Material & Warmth

The "Sangachok" is knitted from genuine, dense Nepalese sheep wool. This unique wool quality provides natural, reliable warmth, pleasant breathability, a robust and durable structure, and a balanced body climate. Perfect for cold days, mountain air, or cozy evenings at home.

Design & Pattern

The cardigan features classic textures, artfully implemented with Nepalese craftsmanship: pronounced cable stitches symbolize strength and protection, the honeycomb pattern represents happiness and abundance, while the moss stitch pattern stands for constancy. The natural white, undyed wool appears authentic and timeless – a distinctive, serene design that tells a story and suits every style.

Practical Details

  • Elaborate knit patterns throughout the entire cardigan
  • Beautiful, robust wooden buttons
  • Two practical front pockets
  • Thick ribbed cuffs for a perfect fit

Fair & Social

With every purchase, you support Nepalese women's cooperatives, fairly paid, secure handicraft jobs, the preservation of traditional knitting techniques, and sustainable, artistic production. The "Sangachok" is not just a cardigan – it's a contribution to fair handicraft culture, for winter, everyday life, and adventures.
