"The colorful fingers give the gloves so much character – you can immediately see that they are handmade."

"Sundara" Hand-knitted Nepal Gloves

The "Sundara" Nepal gloves are traditional full-finger gloves, hand-knitted in small family knitting businesses around Panauti, Banepa, and Shakhu. No two pairs are alike – each one is a unique item.

Material & Warmth

Robust Nepalese sheep's wool on the outside, softly lined on the inside – for warm, natural outer wool, extra comfort from the soft fleece lining, and reliable protection in cold weather, wind, and snow. Breathable and reliably warm.

Design & Pattern

The gloves feature classic knitting patterns that have been made in Nepal for generations: geometric Fair Isle/jacquard patterns on the back of the hand, and fingertips and fingers that are alternately color-striped. Strong, harmonious color combinations create a distinctive look.

Color Variants

  • Deep Red – Palm and lower finger area in deep dark red, white and grey striped trim with a geometric pattern, fingers alternately dark red, light grey & cream/white
  • Petrol – Palm and lower finger area in dark petrol/forest green, white and grey striped trim with a geometric heart/hook pattern, fingers alternately dark green, light grey & cream/white
  • Red – Palm primarily in red, white and black striped trim with a geometric stair/hook pattern, fingers alternately red, cream/white & dark blue/black

Since all gloves are hand-knitted, small differences in pattern or color transitions may occur – each pair is unique with its own personality.

Fair & Local

With every pair of "Sundara", you support traditional Nepalese craftsmanship, fairly paid knitters, and sustainable, resource-efficient production. Gloves that not only keep you warm – but also do good.
