"The larger dragon cymbals sound particularly powerful. When I strike them, I am reminded that the dragon in the Himalayas stands for protection, wisdom, and vitality. The sound lingers in the room and creates a calm atmosphere."
Tibetan Dragon Cymbals – Tingsha 6.5 cm with Dragon Motif (252 g)
These handcrafted Tingsha cymbals have a diameter of 6.5 cm and weigh 252 grams. The entire upper surface is adorned with two intricately designed Tibetan dragons moving between clouds, flames, and traditional ornaments. The curved center features a fan-shaped relief, giving the cymbals their characteristic appearance.
Due to their heavier weight, they produce a particularly rich, clear sound with a long sustain. The warm brass patina highlights the fine details of the dragon engraving and gives the cymbals their traditional character. Both halves are connected by a robust black leather strap.
The Dragon in Tibetan Tradition
The Tibetan dragon – also known as Druk – is a symbol of protection, strength, and wisdom. Unlike in many Western stories, the dragon is not a menacing creature but a guardian of balance. It stands for rain, fertility, and positive energy and has been one of the most important symbols of Himalayan culture for centuries.
Meaning & Application
Tingsha cymbals accompany meditations, yoga, mindfulness exercises, and spiritual rituals. They mark the beginning or end of a meditation, assist in space clearing, and create a conscious moment of calm with their clear sound. The dragon engraving also makes this version a special gift for lovers of Tibetan culture.
Application – How to Use
- Loosely hold the leather strap in one hand so that both cymbals hang freely.
- Gently strike the edges of the cymbals against each other.
- Allow the sound to fully resonate and perceive it consciously.
- Depending on the strike, a soft or particularly clear tone is produced.
Care
- The natural patina is part of the traditional appearance.
- Carefully remove dust with a soft cloth or brush.
- Store the leather strap dry and avoid harsh cleaning agents.
