Kunsang

"These large dragon cymbals produce a particularly deep and resonant sound. The dragon reminds me of protection, courage, and inner strength. When the sound lingers, a pleasant calm arises, accompanying every meditation."

Tibetan Dragon Cymbals – Tingsha 8 cm with Dragon Motif (308 g)

These large handcrafted Tingsha cymbals have a diameter of 8 cm and weigh 308 grams. Both cymbals are adorned with two intricately designed Tibetan dragons, moving amidst traditional cloud and ornamental motifs. The curved center features a classic fan relief, giving the cymbals their characteristic shape.

Thanks to their larger diameter and heavier weight, they produce a particularly deep, clear, and long-lasting sound. The warm brass patina impressively highlights the fine engravings and gives the cymbals their traditional character. A robust black leather strap securely connects both halves.

The Dragon in Himalayan Culture

The Tibetan dragon – Druk – is a symbol of protection, strength, wisdom, and good fortune. It embodies the forces of nature and has been depicted on temples, ritual objects, and musical instruments for centuries. Its depiction is believed to strengthen positive energy and harmonize spaces.

Meaning & Use

Tingsha cymbals are traditionally used for meditation, mindfulness exercises, yoga, and spiritual ceremonies. Their bright, yet deep sound helps to focus the mind, begin or end meditations, and consciously harmonize spaces. The artful dragon engraving also makes this model an exceptional gift.

How to Use

  • Hold the leather strap loosely so that both cymbals can swing freely.
  • Gently strike the edges of the cymbals against each other.
  • Allow the full sound to reverberate consciously.
  • A gentle strike creates a soft tone, while a precise strike produces a particularly clear sound.

Care

  • The natural patina should be preserved.
  • Clean carefully with a soft cloth or brush.
  • Do not use aggressive cleaning agents and store the leather strap dry.
