"When someone picks up this bracelet, I always first tell them about the Namdroling Monastery – the 'Golden Temple' of South India, where this mala was blessed by monks. You can somehow feel it in the bracelet."
Tibetan Mala Bracelet made from Bodhi Seeds
This bracelet consists of 14 to 16 Bodhi seeds with their natural, finely structured surface in an ocher to fawn color – untreated and organic, as befits a genuine mala. At the center sits the Guru bead (Stupa bead), the spiritual heart of every mala. The beads are securely strung on a durable cord and secured with traditional Vajra protection knots.
The bracelet is available in two clasp colors:
- Red – for energy and spiritual power
- Yellow – for wisdom and Buddhist tradition
Both variants weigh approx. 22 grams and feel light on the wrist.
Meaning & Tradition
The Bodhi seeds symbolize the enlightenment of Buddha under the Bodhi tree – for me, one of the most powerful references a piece of jewelry can have. This mala was crafted in the Namdroling Monastery and traditionally blessed by monks, which gives it a special spiritual significance. It is suitable for counting mantras, for example when reciting Om Mani Padme Hum, or simply as a daily reminder of mindfulness.
Because it is a natural product, each mala is a little different in color and structure – for me, that's what makes it authentic.
Care & Use
Over time, the Bodhi seeds develop a noble patina through wearing and touching – they become darker and smoother. This is not a flaw, but a sign that the mala is being lived with and used. It's best to wear it regularly on your wrist, whether meditating, walking, or simply in everyday life.
Take a look at both clasp colors yourself – or visit us at Kramgasse 63, where you can try on the bracelet directly.
