These Tingsha cymbals have a diameter of 6 cm and weigh 159 grams. Their engraving is unique in our range: All eight Tibetan auspicious symbols – the Tashi Tagye (བཀྲ་ཤིས་རྟགས་བརྒྱད) – are arranged around the dome in raised engraving. Image 2 clearly shows them: the Dharma wheel, the endless knot, the lotus flower, the conch shell, the parasol, the golden fish, the treasure vase, and the victory banner. The inside features a radiating lotus pattern. The dome is designed as a hemisphere with fine grooves.

At 159 grams, these cymbals are the lightest in our range – making them particularly agile and comfortable in the hand. The sound is correspondingly brighter and clearer, with a delicate, long sustain. The patina is warm golden, and the engraving stands out beautifully due to the dark shading in the depressions. The leather cord is black.

The eight auspicious symbols – Tashi Tagye

The eight auspicious symbols are one of the most important symbol systems in Tibetan Buddhism. Each represents a unique quality:

How to use them

• Hold the leather cord in one hand, with both cymbals hanging freely downwards.
• Gently strike the edges of the two cymbals together – not the flat sides, but the rims.
• Immediately release and let the sound resonate – listen in silence as it fades.
• For a softer sound, strike them at an angle; for a clearer, brighter tone, strike them directly rim to rim.

Care

• The patina is part of these cymbals' character – it does not need to be polished.
• Remove dust from the raised engraving with a soft brush.
• No aggressive cleaning agents; keep the leather cord dry.
