Tibetan Tashi Cymbals – Tingsha 8 cm with Eight Auspicious Symbols (336 g)

These Tingsha cymbals have a diameter of 8 cm and weigh 336 grams – the largest and heaviest variant of our Tashi cymbals with the eight auspicious symbols. All eight Tashi Tagye (བཀྲ་ཤིས་རྟགས་བརྒྱད) are arranged in deep, raised engraving around the dome – most impressive and sculptural in this size compared to the entire series. The full, round dome features a lotus flower motif, and the inside has Tibetan script.

At 336 grams, these cymbals are the heaviest Tashi cymbals in our assortment – and the sound is accordingly: deep, full, with a very long sustain that fills the entire room. The patina is warm-golden, and the engraving is particularly clearly highlighted by dark shading in the recesses. The leather strap is black and robust.

Usage – How to Do It

• Hold the leather strap in one hand, with both cymbals hanging freely downwards.
• Lightly strike the edges of the two cymbals against each other – not the flat sides, but the rims.
• Immediately release and let the sound resonate – with 8 cm, the sustain can last 30 seconds or longer.
• For a softer sound, strike at an angle; for a clearer, fuller tone, strike rim to rim directly.

Care

• The patina is part of its character – it does not need to be polished.
• Remove dust from the raised engraving with a soft brush.
• Avoid aggressive cleaning agents; keep the leather strap dry.
