Kunsang

“Chenrezig stands for compassion – this thangka brings calm to a room and is ready to hang.”

Chenrezig Thangka Scroll

This thangka shows Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara), the Buddha of compassion, in his four-armed form. Two hands rest in prayer at the heart, the upper right hand holds a mala, the upper left a flower. He is seated on a lotus in front of a green halo, surrounded by clouds, peonies and offerings.

Brocade, Silk and Rods

The printed image is set in a brocade frame with a yellow-orange ground and green-blue patterns. Red silk ribbons and a yellow silk apron at the top add accents. A rod with orange ends sits at the bottom, and the back is made of red cotton fabric. The red hanging cord is already attached.
