“The Yellow Dzambala stands for prosperity and abundance. The thangka is ready to hang.”
Yellow Dzambala Thangka Scroll
This thangka shows the Yellow Dzambala (Jambhala), the Tibetan deity of prosperity. He sits with golden-yellow skin on a lotus throne, in front of a blue background with white and pink peonies. In his right hand he holds a citrus fruit, in his left a mongoose, the animal that spits jewels. Offerings can be seen at the bottom of the image.
Brocade, Silk and Fringes
The printed image is set in a golden-yellow brocade frame with fine patterns. Red silk ribbons and a yellow silk apron at the top add accents. Colourful fringes hang at the bottom, and the back is made of red cotton fabric. The red hanging cord is already attached.
