“In Tibetan Buddhism, White Tara stands for compassion, healing and long life. The thangka is ready to hang.”
White Tara Thangka Scroll
This thangka shows White Tara (Drölkar), a symbol of compassion, healing and long life in Tibetan Buddhism. She sits in the diamond posture on a white lotus, with a halo of fine coloured lines radiating behind her. White and yellow peonies bloom around her among green foliage, and deer by a lotus pond can be seen along the bottom edge.
Brocade, Silk and Rods
The printed image is set in a blue-green brocade frame with golden patterns. Red silk ribbons and a yellow silk apron at the top add accents. A rod with orange ends sits at the bottom, and the back is made of red cotton fabric. The red hanging cord is already attached.
