"Shakhu" Hand-Knitted Wool Jacket from Nepal
This cardigan is carefully knitted in the villages of Panauti, Banepa, and Shakhu by skilled Nepali women who have passed down their traditional knowledge for generations. Each piece is entirely handmade, piece by piece, stitch by stitch – a unique handmade item with soul.
The model in the product photos is 185 cm tall and wears size L – the jacket fits true to size to slightly large, ideal for a comfortable, warm feel. The detailed size chart with all measurements can be found directly with the product images.
Material & Warmth
The combination of robust, natural sheep's wool and a cozy fleece lining ensures exceptional warmth, high wearing comfort, wind-resistant properties, and a pleasant, comfortable climate, even on very cold days.
Design & Pattern
The coarsely knitted melange pattern in black, grey, and white is complemented by a striking, geometric band pattern in red, black, and white. An additional Norwegian-inspired motif adorns the upper part of the jacket – a real eye-catcher.
Practical Details
- Removable hood with zipper – flexible depending on the weather
- Full-length front zipper for easy on and off
- Side pockets for warm hands
- Comfortable stand-up collar for additional protection and comfort
Fair & Social
With every purchase, you directly support the secured income of Nepali knitters, the promotion of traditional craftsmanship, and sustainable, conscious production instead of mass-produced goods. This jacket is more than fashion – it is a contribution to social responsibility and fair value creation, perfect for autumn, winter, and cold evenings.
It's best to see for yourself – or stop by Kramgasse 63, where you can try on the jacket directly in the store.
